Antenna Tower Mounts
What should I use to mount my TV antenna?
Just looking for some ideas here. I need something cheap and durable from the hardware store to mount my TV antenna on. I finally got my converter boxes hooked up but I can’t get signal since there are lots of buildings around where I live. Plus I live in a valley so the reception sucks.
I’m thinking of using some dowel poles or some metal piping. Remember, it has to be cheap and durable. Length isn’t an issue as I have roof rails for my car to haul it home.
I plan to move it around some, from house to house so it’s not being attached to the house or put in the ground. I’m going to use rope, hooks, and stakes like you see on some radio towers.
If you can install your antenna on the roof, there are several ways to go. One easy method I’ve used is a tripod mount with a 10-foot section of galvanized pipe (hardware store, fencing materials).
