HDTV reception over the air with a UHF antenna only?
I live in San Jose, CA and would like over the air reception of HDTV broadcasts. All local Channels that I sure either of Sutro Tower in San Francisco and San Bruno Mountains, about 35 to 40 miles to get broadcast. From my location in West San Jose, they are all antennaweb.org to between 305-310 degrees azimuth. It seems like a highly directional Yagi or one of these would be multi-function bay Grid antennas. However, most the compact UHF antenna only. This works well for all but the local NBC channel, which broadcast on VHF Channel 12 plans. My question is if I still get this station reliably with a UHF antenna only. My house is a two-story, so I can antenna rather high, but I wanted a huge VHF / UHF antenna with a mast and guy wires would need to be avoided.
