ham radio antenna tower wind load?

Im a ham radio radio operator and looking for a tower i may have found one but i want to make sure i have the right wind load the magazine says 4 Square ft wind load could some one clarify the meaning of that by telling me how much wind this can withstand thanks
73′s Evan

If I understand the question correctly, the short answer is it can withstand an antenna with a four square feet wind load. You have a tower in mind that says it is rated for say 4 square feet of wind load and it should also say at 75 or 100MPH etc. either way, the antenna you will be installing will also have a wind load rating in Square feet. So first look at the antenna you want to install, look at the specs. I should say it has 2 square feet or 8 square feet etc. Then be sure to choose a tower with more than that. Rotors also are rated this way, so if you will install an antenna that requires a rotor, be sure the rotor you choose has a square foot wind load that is greater than that of the antenna. The question always starts with the antenna, hen everything else will need to have a higher wind load rating.

ham radio satellite
I I have a project file on communication for disaster management info get from where?

I have the satellite project to make this one of Radio / / Television / Ham radio, which is used by govt. Departments to spread Information.i need to find out how the info. spread that they are on different Levels of disaster and have a report drawn up. Plz help me in this and give me some ideas to complete this project.

Satellite communications can be used for early warning in addition to awareness and education are used in the disaster prone areas. One of the early warning systems developed in the middle is the Digital Cyclone Warning Dissemination System (DCWDS). Such a system is planned to the IMD, Delhi and other vulnerable areas be provided on the coast. Communications equipment can be set for rescue and relief purposes. The WLL – VSAT system has provision for mobile phones that can easily be taken, in the affected areas. Similarly, Audio alerts can be sent out to selected areas of digital radio system. An interactive distance learning system for the delivery of training for the Personnel with two-way data transmission and create a database in one place. Such a system has provision for the transfer of images from the affected areas also Facilities such as video conferencing. The MSS-C type reporting terminal is developed at the Center available for sending text messages via satellite. Likewise, the Satellite telephones for most audio communication can be used effectively in remote areas. For the recent Bhuj earthquake, the center has demonstrated the establishment of a communication link between Bhuj and Gandhinagar through the use of AES-SNG. Such a system can also send video images of the affected site for online assessment / instructions from the control center. Telemedicine is another area where on-line help can be provided by larger hospitals and super specialty physician / s. A Web camera to a laptop PC with uplink system can effectively be used for telemedicine consultation. can in the response phase of a disaster, the remote sensing techniques for effective and accurate assessment of the affected area / s to be used was one of the earliest studies in this direction was conducted by the Center for the 1977 Andhra cyclone, caused a large-scale destruction of coastal paths in the Krishna delta. A two-step approach using satellite data (the then available Landsat MSS) and large aerial photographs (1: 70,000) was used to assess the damage, including the unit cost of such a survey. The optical remote sensing data has application to the provision of such an assessment will be limited to cloud cover with the hurricanes and subsequent flooding. However, in the found last years of data from microwave sensors such as Radarsat extremely useful to overcome the problem of cloud cover. One such example is the study presented progressive flooding of the East UP floods of 1998 with multi-date data in different modes Radarsat ScanSAR narrow beam that is, SAR and SAR-standard extended low. A detailed damage assessment made available to the district officials in two weeks has been shown that an area had a total of ~ 5.37 lakh ha (this is the arable land was ~ 3.76 lakh ha) flooded with ~ 4278 villages / settlements. The unit cost of the satellite survey found that of Rs vary. 2 / – to 20 / – per sq km corresponds to the resolution used. The three records were useful in monitoring the progressive flooding. Besides the satellite, communication and education a more active role in the attenuation of awareness about the types of disasters and to play, such as prevention measures can be made. People can educated about their rights and obligations and be on the various prescription, the situation almost all of the three Phases, ie before the face, during and after the disaster. Different target groups need to be addressed with different objectives and strategies of communication. The target group includes the victims of the disaster, friends and relatives of victims, government agencies / authorities, NGOs, funding agencies and international organizations to , Rescue relief and rehabilitation work. They all need different set of communication, because each performs a different role. So it seems that satellite communication, education and remote sensing can be very well integrated to define disaster management system. Much of this is in the 10th ISRO Five-year plan is implemented. Some the key elements addressed create database of flood and cyclone prone areas, ortho-photo maps of cities in high seismic zones, priority is improvised, Drought bulletins, operational system for forest fire, GIS-based Decision Support System for Disaster Management. Similarly, plans are under way in the comprehensive The field of satellite communications and education.
